Walleye is the official fish of Saskatchewan and are very popular with anglers. Walleyes have excellent sight in low light and tend to feed extensively at dawn and dusk, on cloudy or overcast days and under windy, choppy water conditions. In dark waters, walleye feed throughout the day.
In spring and fall walleye often feed near shallower areas with spawning grounds, especially during high winds due to murkier, higher oxygenated water around six feet. On calm spring days the walleye are often located at the deep side of the shoreline drop-off and around deep slopes.
Flotten Lake, is known for its excellent walleye fishing. A classic northern lake featuring rock reefs, points, and other structural elements known to walleye anglers everywhere. In addition to trophy walleye, the lake holds monster northern pike, whitefish and perch.
